MJ Toys newly operational after large fire, with new management team
MJ Toys, the market leader in socially conscious games and toys, headquartered in Finland, is back to regular operations after the accident in the production facility last month.
After the concerns on compliance to safety policy that emerged during the investigation after the fire that has ravaged the production facilities in Napapiiri, the Board of Directors has appointed a new team to steer the strategy and operations of MJ Toys.
The new team is composed of:
Sara Lesina, CEO
Roel van Hemelen, CFO
Bert Vanthemsche, COO
Esther Roure Vila, CIO and Head of R&D
Bogdan Ciobanu, VP Sales & Marketing
Danaë Van den bossche, VP HR & CSR
With full confidence and operating mandate from the Board, the new team is already at work to resume production and ensure smooth operations in Sales, Finance, Marketing and HR.
Ms. Lesina, the new CEO, states: “It has been a difficult moment for MJ Toys, but we are incredibly energized to start over with a new team and renewed confidence form our board. We will continue to pursue our strategic vision to develop high-quality games and toys for the leaders of tomorrow, and we will work tirelessly to make sure to deliver on our promises to our customers and shareholders.”
Luckily, the fire only damaged production equipment – no employee was harmed or suffered any negative consequence. All employees have been able to resume their normal activities last week, after the fire department ensured full safety of the premises.
Ms. Van den bossche, the new VP HR and CSR, shares: “We are overcome with the support we have received after the accident, both from our own employees, who have worked incredibly hard to rebuild and get us operational again; as well as our Board who has been very supportive. While of course we want to get back to business as soon as possible, we want to make sure that we do that in complete safety and respecting the code of conducts. Our employees are our strength and we must ensure they also feel safe to come to work and go back home safe every day.”
